Shootings, Guns, and stuff

First political post. woot. Now, I'm not a super political nut, I don't know everything that is going up in the big government, just what I see, and hear on the news, internet, and from my own opinions. So of course, read at your own will, disclosure, and whatever.

It is a sad, horrific event that did happen, a shooting will children dying, and other people getting injured. I do send my condolences to the children's family and friends who were affected. I believe there was a moment of silence throughout the country, and that the president shed a tear for them. That's all well and dandy, but my problem is when people try to say, guns are the problem.

I won't say that gun don't kill people. Of course guns kill people, but a gun is a tool. Just like a wrench, a knife, or fishing pole. Whats the fundamental factor with all these tools, they're human operated. In the hands of a human, a wrench, can become a weapon, beating someone's face in, killing them. A gun, or weapon as they call it in the military, is a tool, a tool to hunt, and a tool to defend oneself. So, in my logic, a tool, that can be used as a weapon, should be illegalized, and removed from households, and made more difficult to purchase and get. That should stop the killings right? So, the mechanics, chefs, and fishermen will start complaining, just like they are now. Americans are complaining that they are being stripped of their right to bear arms.

I do not believe that we should be stripped of our right to bear arms, but arms dealers should run training programs before you can buy your gun, and also put through a Q&A test of intentions with the weapon. We should not just remove our right to own a gun, that would make the public less powerful, and thus, a series of things would happen, call it a theory. Different discussion. This would prevent a looney from buying a gun and taking it out that day to do whatever. In these classes, the arms dealer should teach about bullets, how they're constructed, and act. They should detail about how a weapon works, and all the safety concerns and practices available. A big thing that should be a requirement to purchase a weapon should be having a secure place to store it that has a combo and is child-proof. Most times when a thing is child-proof, its retard proof, therefore slowing down those people who wish to use the weapon to do inhumane things.

I am not familiar with most healthcare facilities, so I am not too keen on metal health services, but, these should be provided and referenced by these arms dealers. If a person you know is willing to buy a gun, you should have the guts to help a friend if you think they are not mentally stable. Just like the drunk driving posters, friends don't let friends drive drunk. Friends don't let friends buy guns when they need help.

I have also seen some statistics, whether they were real or made up, about other countries who have stripped the right to own guns. Usually bad things happen, and those with guns, come and save these people. I am not sure if those countries just made it harder to get guns, ie, the methods I discussed, or if they just did away with the guns. We don't have to tax the crap out of gun owners, or arms dealers, but just provide services to assure that your buyers and users are mentally stable, and have been trained in proper safety techniques.

Now to recap, I have said that most things that are tools, can be classified as weapons. Do we simply remove these from public possession? No, we have to take care and train people. Just like a car, we train a person to drive it, then take a test to own and operate that vehicle. So it should just be like a gun. That is my two cents (sense)
